R: Thanks Svit! All good over here, it's morning right now and time for work on the morning posts for mellon and answering mails and stuff.
S: Ok to start things off, tell us what´s this site all about and how the idea for MellonBMX came to mind?
R: Mellon is all about BMX, daily news from riders and companies around the globe, it hosts various contests and giveaways to help riders and we also started a new section "Tricktionary Friday" to showcase tricks. I also need to mention mellon 7's section, where you will find quick interviews we are doing with athletes.
The idea for mellon just sprang to mind a good year ago, when I was thinking about, why all those great riders who are not well known don't get any support at all. And I also wanted to start writing a blog that will have as much news as possible (on a daily basis), cause other sites are missing so much good and quality stuff.
S: I must give you a lot of props for that! Mainly because it´s awesome to see a site that is updated costantly through out the day. No seriously people! Even when we are drinking a few beers at his place and getting ready to go out he still takes time to update it haha
Now lets talk about contests. What kind of contests does MellonBMX host?
R: Thanks a lot! You know, when you love something so much, you will try doing it all the time.
We are hosting three different contests, one for best video, one just for a trick and we sure didn't forgot about flatlanders. Along with that we are also hosting a random best photo contest, where riders and photographers can win some money just with a photo.

S: I can definitely relate to that. Cool now let´s get back to the name! MellonBMX... What is the true meaning of Mellon! So people wont confuse it with something else! No kids its not related with fruit haha
R: Nope it's no fruit or name for boobs, haha. A few years ago I was reading the book, Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring and right after I read "mellon" I knew this is the word I will use if I will ever start something by my own. And it means "Friend". We are all one big family and I think the word is just perfect for that.
S: No boobs on the site?! damn... haha

S: How about merchandising? Does MellonBMX have anything planed for this year besides stickers, which I hear are very desirable too!
R:We are having new stickers, with new logo in the works so hopefully they will be available ASAP. Besides that, next week our new The Logo beanies will drop in black and burgundy. They will be available in a limited number so be quick and pick one up before they're all gone!
S: Make sure you save one for me! haha
R: It's already waiting for you! haha

S: So your site has been online for little over a year now. Do you have any new aditions for it in the future?
R: Yep, it's live a good year now and yes I have some stuff in the works. I recently started with "Tricktionary Friday" as I already mentioned and right now I'm working on something new for the riders. Nothing big but I think it should be fun.
S: Awesome! Im not gonna ask you more about it...lets keep it a secret! Hehe
